We will also review the independent contractor test used by the Texas Workforce Commission as a reference to the distinction between independent contractors and employees. We will also examine common forms from the Texas Department of Workers' Compensation (DWC) related to independent contractor policies and their purpose. Finally, attendees will learn why receiving a 1099 form does not automatically classify a worker as an independent contractor.
